Here Comes The Sun: Perennial Picks
The sun is finally out (some days!), so we thought we'd share some of our favorite sun-loving perennials with you: Helianthus 'Lemon Queen' Soft, lemon-colored blooms cover this large perennial from August through the season. Attractive to butterflies, it makes a great back-of-the-border plant.Geranium 'Rozanne' The 2008 Perennial Plant of the Year, this low growing plant is perfect in rock gardens or edging a bed as a groundcover. Violet-blue blooms through the summer are a nice contrast to summers yellow and orange bloomers. Gaillardia 'Arizona Sun' Also known as Blanket Flower, this dramatically bi-colored red and yellow flower blazes in the summer sun. Compact and heat tolerant, it also attracts butterflies. Clematis 'Sapphire Indigo' This deep-blue clematis is fast-growing, but stays a smaller 3 1/2' tall in size: perfect for small spaces and patios that need a burst of long-lasting color.
